Consulting
Is there a proposal or technical document that you need help with? Does your project need someone to help set industry-best practices to your documentation process?
My ever-expanding portfolio includes government proposals, grants, project management document, design documents, requirements documents, functional documents, software specification documents, online help, user manuals, cheat sheets, press releases, newsletters, ezine articles, web content, and that is not including everything.
I can help ease your mind, so you can focus on other areas of your project’s lifecycle. Here are some of the ways that I can assist you and your organization:
Technical Writing
More often than not, Engineers, Developers, and Database Administrators are not the best writers. This is where I come in. I’ve written design documents, system-related documentation, user manuals, etc. for IT consulting companies and government agencies. Being technically-savvy and a fast learner, I’m able to work together with Software Management Experts (SMEs) to create documentation that can translate their technical jargon into language that anyone can understand.
Proposal Writing
I started volunteering at different non-profit organizations by assisting them with their grant writing. This progressed into writing proposal in response to government request-for-proposals (RFPs). I’ve written quick ten-paged proposal to ones that were over 100 pages. One thing that never changed was the “Exceptional” rating I got on each and every one. I know one of the best-kept secrets is working closely with the client and doing extensive research. I’ve even offered my expertise in helping the client improve their proposed solution.
Web Content Writing
A company’s web site is one of the key ways that your clients find out more about you. Therefore, you have to ensure that the content best reflects your company, your products/services, and your team. I can help you do that. We will work together to strive for a well-written site that will make your clients want to hire you over and over again.
Requirements Gathering and Analysis
For a system to be properly developed there has to be detailed requirement that have pinpointed every angle. I have been part of the requirements gathering and analysis process from beginning to end. Additionally, I’ve participated in formal training CMMI-Level 3. Research, requirement documentation, and gap analysis are something that I am very familiar with. Sometimes having a knowledgeable person who is looking at your requirements process with a fresh pair of eyes is exactly what you need.
Speaking
I teach business owners how to take control of their technical documentation, and the art of how to write a winning proposal. Recently, I taught a successful workshop, “How to Write a Winning Proposal,” that taught business owners the ins and outs of writing a successful proposal in response to government request-for-proposal (RFPs). It was widely received, and I have been invited to return. I am currently accepting speaking gigs.
