Being sick is never fun, especially when you are dealing with high fever and your throat feels as though it’s closing up. However, I am a big believer that there is always some good in every bad situation. One thing about being sick is that you stay in bed, disconnected from the world, and you get to really think. Thinking without any interruptions is when you realize what is important and what isn’t.
As an early adopter, I am always the first one to check out a new social networking site when I first hear about it. I love social media and people, so it’s a great way to connect with new people and communication with the ones you already know. However, being so connected on so many social networking sites will eventually cause you to fizzle out. For awhile, I have been a bit drained, and I realized that I am addicted to social media. There I said it. I am. I love being able to interact with people all over the world, and be able to share with each other the things we find important. However, trying to keep up with tons of site every day can get to be a bit much.
After I was a bit better, I sat down with pen and paper, and really thought about what social networking sites I really couldn’t live without. This is what I came up with:
- Google+
- YouTube
- Tumblr
- Foursquare
- GetGlue
- Goodreads
This might still seem extensive, but if you saw what I was starting with, you would realize that this is a small list.
