Quick Tip: Three Ways to Not Lose Your Work When Windows Live Writer Crashes

I wrote a long post about my love for proposal writing, and Windows Live Writer stopped working.  In a matter of seconds, all my work was gone. I love Windows Live Writer.  It is one of the best blogging writing software that you can install, and it sucks that they don’t have it for Mac.  I’ve tried several replacements, and none of them compared. But, not everything in this world can be perfect.

The only issue with Windows Live Writer is that it stops working at times. This is a nice way of saying that it just crashes and closes the program. If you don’t save the work, then you will be mad at the world like I am right now.

You have three ways to handle this:

  1. Keep clicking Save or hitting Ctrl + S so that you keep saving the file
  2. Keep hitting Ctrl + C so that you copy what you are writing.  If Windows Live Writer fails, then all you have to do is paste.
  3. Write in another word processing software that has the recover function, and copy + paste when you’re done.

Microsoft, come on! Word has recover, so can’t you just do the same for Windows Live Writer?  I shouldn’t have to do these workarounds because I’m in fear that all I have written will be lost.  Definitely, not cool.
