Video Bloggers: Need Advice on How to Start a Video Blog
Video blogging is something that has always interested me. It’s a great way to interact with your readers for many reasons:
1. They are able to put a face to your writing
2. They get to see your body language and quirks
3. It makes you a person
I know all the pieces to the puzzle to start video blogging, but I am not sure if I am 100% right.
1. Find a niche - I know that I would love to talk about writing, but I wonder if I should narrow that down even more.
2. Find a video service – There are a few that I have looked at, and I seem to like Ustream out of all of them.
3. Webcam to use – Do I use my Mac internal webcam? Or do I buy an external web cam? I think I am ok using the webcam that comes with my Mac, but wonder what experienced video bloggers think.
4. Broadcast live or pre-record – Broadcasting live sounds great, but how long should it be? Does it only work if you already have a following? Or can you just start? Or is pre-recording a better way to go?
5. Finding viewers – How do I get people to watch? Is using social media enough?
Even if I don’t know all the answers, I do one for sure. Just start and figure it out along the way. All I can do is keep doing it until I get better and better. I would love to hear from Video Bloggers, who have been doing it for awhile, and can give me some great tips and/or answer some of my questions.
