I never heard about Google Health until my doctor advised me to join their health network. When I joined, I noticed that it has the ability to sync with Google Health. Being the tester that I am, I headed there to sign up. It is a great way to have your family’s and your information in one centralized location.

Today, they announced that they added the ablity to share this information with doctors, famil members, and friends. This is a big step because it signifies that social media is also becoming a growing trend in the health community.

Awhile ago, I heard a story about a boy in a third-world country being saved by a European doctor texting directions to his doctors. Earlier this week, I heard about doctors using Twitter to share information and tactics.

This is huge because if health advisors are using social media to save lives and increase innovation in the medical field, then it shows how social media is contributing to make a difference in the world.

This is fantastic! I don’t know if this will work for this, but there are a lot of kids who are adopted and would love to know their biological parents health for the sake of their own health and that of their children. Unfortunately they rarely if ever find out what it is. This may work for those instances where a biological parent doesn’t want the child to know who they are but does want to release pertinant info regarding their health. Like I said, I don’t know if its feasible but I am sure ithere is a way. I think this is all great.
